Depending on where you’re from, you may find the academic experience in the US to be quite different from what you’re used to. In the US, a lot of emphasis is placed on participation – speaking up in class and working on projects and assignment with a team of classmates. It’s also normal (often times even encouraged) to question what someone else says and begin a debate.
